Serinyà prehistoric caves

5 minutes away.

The caves of Serinyà, where archaeologists are still working today, are considered one of the best european prehistoric sites of the Paleolithic. They have a great importance to study the passage from Neanderthal man to homo sapiens. Discovered in the mid-20th century, they are one of the cultural tourist attractions of the Pla de l'Estany area. The first weekend of each month (during summer, every day) are also offered workshops related to life in the Paleolithic: archery, cave painting and demonstrations of flint carving and how to light fire.
