Commitment to Sustainability

At L'Arcada de Fares, we believe that tourism and environmental conservation go hand in hand. That is why we are committed to a sustainable tourism model based on energy efficiency, respect for our natural surroundings and the continuous improvement of our facilities.

One example of this commitment is our swimming pool, which uses a salt electrolysis water treatment system. This technology offers significant benefits for both people's health and the environment. It reduces the use of chemical products and is gentler on swimmers' skin and eyes.

The estate is also equipped with solar thermal panels for domestic hot water production and photovoltaic panels for renewable electricity generation. In addition, all our apartments are fitted with waste separation systems to encourage recycling among our guests.

As part of our commitment to improving energy efficiency, L'Arcada de Fares has implemented a smart home automation system to control the heating and cooling of the apartments, complemented by the installation of sensors on doors and windows.

This system automatically regulates indoor temperatures and optimises energy consumption by preventing unnecessary heating or cooling whenever doors or windows are left open or when the apartments are unoccupied. As a result, it improves the property's energy efficiency, reduces energy consumption and helps lower greenhouse gas emissions.

This project has been funded by the European Union – NextGenerationEU, under Spain's Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan, through the programme supporting energy efficiency improvements in facilities and equipment and circular economy projects for tourist accommodation establishments in Catalonia.
